Built for the 2024 Des Moines HBA HomeShow Expo, Inception is a two-story home designed to challenge what we typically see in Iowa architecture. Inspired by the sophistication and energy of Las Vegas, this home embraces a bold bachelor-pad aesthetic while still feeling warm, refined, and inviting. Masculine design elements are softened through rich textures, warm tones, and intentional lighting throughout the home.
One of the home’s most striking architectural features is the dramatic glass walkway connecting the two wings of the home; the private primary suite and floating office on one side, and the main living spaces on the other. The contemporary rooflines and expansive windows further emphasize the home’s modern design and open feel.
At the center of the home is a large chef’s kitchen complete with fully paneled appliances and a hidden butler’s pantry designed for seamless entertaining. The primary suite serves as its own retreat, featuring a double-sided fireplace and spa-like atmosphere. Additional luxury spaces include a private home gym, large lower-level bar and a sunken lower-level golf simulator and theater combo, creating the ultimate entertainment experience.
